In 2018, together, we proved the power that happens when we work together for our kids, to just feel like kids—no matter the diagnosis.
Thank you for sharing in our commitment to comfort children struggling with cancer!
Because of your support, I wanted to take a moment and share with you a few of our top moments from the year!
You helped us provide:
135 Valentines Day and 135 Easter baskets (filled with items like toys, stuffed animal and gift cards!) to children at Akron Children’s Hospital and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital
20 baskets and 50 Halloween bags filled with goodies
Over 100 Christmas stockings, 50 Christmas toys, as well as $100 Amazon gift cards for the older children
20 Christmas Morning Family Baskets in Akron for every family in hospital on Christmas
The opportunity for 88 Project Ed Bear children to join us for Camp Ed Bear this summer
Over 100 end of treatment and birthday parties with cakes from West Side Bakery
11 Liv Thru Art parties and outings that included a visit to The Cleveland Art Museum and Castle Noel
12 college scholarships to Project Ed Bear kids
6 family meals in the oncology ward at Akron Children’s Hospital for all kids and their families
Financial help with 8 local families
Books for our two Take Me Home Book Carts, with the help from our friends at the Stephen A. Comunale, Jr. Family Cancer Foundation
We welcomed more than 900 people (hopefully you!) to the Project Ed Bear family during our Twisted Tiffany event in April, the 24th Annual Project Ed Bear Gala in November and the annual Project Ed Bear Liv Thru Art Show at the Art Akron Museum that features the children’s art.
Project Ed Bear is, and will continue to be, a 100% volunteer run nonprofit organization. When you support our children, please know, you’re supporting the kindest and bravest souls we’ve ever met. Every dollar you donate makes a difference to our children, and we all so very grateful for you!
Thank you for being active in our Project Ed Bear family, and we look forward to seeing you again soon,
Susan Summerville, Co-Founder
